NIFTE pumps and Thermofluidics’ recently introduce Valved Pumping Engine are well suited to a number of applications in the wastewater and drainage sectors.
Their ability to use heat at only 30 degrees Centigrade above the pumped fluid to pump useful flows against useful heads, reliably and economically, makes them well-suited as air-pumps, low-head drainage pumps, stirrers and other types of agitators. Either waste process heat or low-cost solar thermal collectors may be used as heat inputs in these applications. As solar powered pumps, NIFTE devices are highly competitive with PhotoVoltaic pumps anyway. However, in applications where fluid heating is required in addition to pumping, and where heat is available as a waste product, their competitive margin can be an order of magnitude (x 10) or more.
